Going to and discovering the Casa Musicale is like one of those occasions where you unexpectedly meet some refreshing and fascinating individual on a journey and with whom you subsquently remain in touch all your life.
All cultural activities at the Casa Musicale are overseen by the federation E Voce di u Cumune. Created in 1978, EVC is the parent organization for A Casa Musicale, A Cumpagnia, Arte di A Musica, Festivoce. To date, its achievments includes: the revival of the cetera (an ancient stringed instrument) and the perfecting of its reconstruction by working from tablatures and an original instrument, research into toscan organs built in Balagna and the relationship between vocal polyphony and organ. Reports of work-in-progress are published on a regular basis. Alongside the singing classes, wich take place throughout the year during term time, over a dozen courses are organized wich serve to introduce or to advance performance techniques. A programm of events is published every six months. At the request of musicians, professionnal or amateur, E Voce di u Cumune is available to finalise arrangements for specific courses.
